Our church actively supports the work of two community chaplains, one who supports residents and their families at Highfield Court Retirement Village and the other who works with students, staff and parents/carers at Mayfield West Demonstration School.
Emerge Youth exists to encourage young people (in school years 6-10) and to let them know how much God loves them. Rather than just telling young people how to live, we want to get alongside them regardless of where they are at and encourage them to live out their God-given potential.
Emerge Youth offers a range of activities for young people, find out what’s happening through their Facebook Page.
For parents: At Emerge Youth your young person’s safety and well-being is paramount. All our Emerge Youth leaders have a current Working With Children Check.
Is our vibrant children’s programme held every Sunday morning except during school holidays. Energy begins early in our 10 am service and concludes at approximately 11:15 am. Energy is about sharing God’s love with kids in an age-appropriate way. We engage children through singing, craft activities, readings and prayer.
For parents: At Energy your child’s safety and well-being is paramount. All our Energy leaders have a current Working With Children Check.
In a nutshell, Fiveways is a free community BBQ… but it is so much more than that! Yes, we provide those who need it, a fortnightly meal on a Sunday evening. But, so much more than this, we want people to know that they’re not alone, that God cares and we care.
Fiveways is held fortnightly under the verandah at BaptistCare, Hanbury St., Mayfield from around 4:30pm.
This year we had one mixed team in Hunter Christian Churches Football and next year we’re hoping for bigger and better things! Playing sport is a great way to bring people together and our team this year was full of people from all walks of life.
Knit & Natter
As the name suggests, Knit & Natter is a women’s social group for those who knit and who like a chat. Knowing how to knit is not compulsory as they are happy to teach you. The group meets every Monday at 9:30 am at the church. The group is currently knitting woollen goods for those in need, premature babies, and those in care.
While our Sunday services are essential, the REAL journeying through life with people takes place in a Life Group. We have groups for everyone at different times of the week. Our desire is that everyone who is a part of our church is a part of a Life Group.
Prayer is foundational in all that we do. We have a confidential Prayer Circle that is happy to pray for anyone for whatever needs they may have. Fill in a Care Card on Sunday or contact us and we would be privileged to pray for your situation.
Our Seniors Group meets monthly for fun and connection. They had a wonderful Christmas in July lunch with all the trimmings. They enjoy devonshire tea & strolls in the park.
We believe worship is all of life. Worship is also an integral part of our Sunday services. In our worship time, we want to help people connect with God, acknowledge who he is, and respond to everything he has done for us.
People can get involved in an on-stage role (singing or playing an instrument) or behind the scenes (sound or data production). We believe everyone has something to offer!
